2009, SA, and the only character for a black man in a fairy tale is Lefur, Gaston’s monkey. This put a sour taste in my mouth and ruined the show for me. Do not see it.

That's not quite right, you can also see Tony Braxton as Belle and there has been Black Lumieres, Silly Girls, and some if the ensemble. Even that they're supposed to be at France around 1800's, and there weren't many black people in those days.
Thanks anonymous. I thought I might have been a little sensitive about but thought not. This was a south african production. It needed to be made south african.
